Twenty combined years at Hewlett Packard and Eastman Kodak has provided Alan with world class business skills -- especially in the area of product marketing, go-to-market execution and business planning -- while delivering outstanding business results. Since arriving in the Seattle area, Alan has focused his skills on starting and growing smaller, high technology and e-commerce businesses – leading marketing, sales, product management, development and operations.
Diverse businesses managed have ranged from enterprise computing and networking, to wireless mobile software & services, factory automation/control, professional photography and imaging, consumer based digital photography and imaging, office document management, and field customer technical support. Some of the vertical markets Alan has served include health care, government, telecom, manufacturing, energy & aerospace. She currently holds leadership positions on a number of for-profit and nonprofit boards including Zones, Inc.; Cinnaroll Bakeries Ltd.; Pacific Northwest Ballet; YMCA, PONCHO and the United Way of King County. Ms. Hatch has served as the president of HatchMatch, a consulting business that works with businesses and nonprofits to maximize the impact of philanthropy in the community, and has served as a facilitator and trainer for a variety of companies.

Ellen is a patent attorney specializing in software, Internet, business process, and computer-related patents, portfolio management and strategy, and litigation.  She especially enjoys helping new and existing technology companies of diverse sizes protect their intellectual property investments in the software, e-commerce, and “business method” arenas.   Prior to joining BLACK LOWE & GRAHAM PLLC, Ellen counseled clients for over eighteen years at Seed Intellectual Property Law Group.   She has a vast technology and management experience as a software professional in areas such as operating systems, user interface design, and object-oriented software, working for companies including Microsoft Corporation, Hewlett-Packard Company, Digital Equipment Corporation, and a start-up computer company.  She also owned her own company in user interface design and consulting.
