ZINO, Keiretsu Anoint Top Ttartups at Pitch ForumsThursday, October 22, 2009 | By: John Cook Zino, Keiretsu anoint top startups at pitch forumsJohn Cook on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 5:52pm PDT
EnRoute Systems' Keith McCall, left, with Cathi Hatch and Rob Brown of Zino Society. It must be the time of year for angels and startups to emerge. Last week, we reported on the winner of the Northwest Entrepreneur Network's First Look Forum: Findood. Now, word comes of the winners of two other recent startup competitions. At yesterday's Angel Capital Expo, sponsored by Keiretsu, Seattle online video and content management platform Delve Networks took home the top prize. And Zino Society -- which hosted its Zino Zillionaire Investment Forum last month -- today announced that Enroute Systems and MicroGreen Polymers each won $60,000. Enroute, which is developing a software system for companies to more efficiently ship packages, won the best technology award. Meanwhile, MicroGreen -- which is developing a new process for creating environmentally-friendly plastic products -- won the best non-tech award. (You can watch videos of the business pitches for most of the presenting startups here). In case you missed those startup events, there are a few more just around the corner. The Oregon Entrepreneur's Network is hosting its Venture Northwest forum on October 29. That's also the same day as the Clean Tech Open -- where three clean tech entrepreneurs will receive $50,000 in cash and services at an event in downtown Seattle. As I said before, it is busy times in the startup and angel communities. |
