Stealthy Point Inside gets cash

Foreman

Point Inside co-founder Kevin Foreman has closed a $700,000 angel round of financing. But the former entrepreneur-in-residence at Madrona Venture Group and former general manager of the mobile business unit at RealNetworks still isn't saying much about the idea.

The company's Web site doesn't offer many details either, other than to indicate that the service is designed to help people find restaurants, stores and other nearby locations. The company's tagline is "Mapping the Indoor World."

We wrote about Point Inside -- co-founded by Josh Marti, Brian Wilson and Jon Croy-- back in June. But at the time of the story, a SEC filing indicated that the company had raised $202,000 of a $500,000 round.

Foreman confirmed the seed round, but wouldn't say much else about the concept or the timing of the launch. The round was oversubscribed, he said.

Prior to founding Point Inside, Foreman led a Facebook application startup called Bevy that allowed people to create virtual closets of clothes they might want to wear.
